Although our main focus is not public relations we had the distinct honor of being appointed to organize and run every aspect of the Grand Opening of Bolivar Municipal Airport, Southwest Missouri. This successful two day event was ten months in the making and involved liaison with the FAA, the Bolivar City Council, event sponsors, participants, and the media. It was a particularly important event for the growth of the city of Bolivar and for general aviation as a whole. This airport flies in the face of the trend throughout the nation, which trend has been for GA airports to close. In making the event a success, On The Spot worked with the management of the new airport, representatives of the city council, and a host of volunteers. |
